A member asked:

Can you tell me if i have unprotected sex with someone and my test results are negative, does that mean they would be negative?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More information: More information is needed as to what you're referring to as, "would be negative." your partner could be positive for herpes, but not be shedding virus when you had intercourse, therefore you would be negative. Some stds are more contagious than others. Maybe consider rephrasing your question with the specific std(s) you're concerned about? Definitely one person can be positive and the other neg.
