A member asked:

Does co-trimoxazole increase or decrease sperm count? we're trying to become pregnant but my husband is under this medicine, help

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See answer: Co-trimoxazole: combination of sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim antibiotics commonly used in treatment of genitourinary infections including males with infertility problems and abnormal semen parameters (counts, motility, morphology) associated with increased leukocytes (pyospermia) suggesting infection. There are a number of studies showing that co-trimoxazole may have an adverse effect on sperm.
