Slight: Increased risk is primarily with intra-abdominal udts. Most quoted risk in literature for intra-abdominal udts is 1:15 or 4%. Risk cancer in low inguinal udts is minimal. Risk for high inguinal is inbetween. 1 in 6 patients who have unilateral udt ; develop testicular cancer have it in the descended testis. Advise all undescended testes be brought down far enough to be palpable in case of cancer.
