It's not: All male and almost all female teens explore and enjoy their bodies in this way. It prepares you for adult roles, keeps you physically comfortable and able to do other things, and is fun. It will not make you short, smooth, hairy, bald, infertile, unspiritual, a loner, impotent, or a cripple on your wedding night. If someone tells you otherwise, they are a proven liar. Talk with someone sensible.

Masturbation: Actually it is not a bad thing. It is a normal, common and healthy expression of human sexuality. Now that is from a medical perspective. Every man you know and almost every female you know has or does masturbate. This is a common and natural part of the human experience. There are no health consequences to this sexual activity. It is unfortunate that the opposite is taught to many children.
