Female Fertility: Let's start at the beginning. The period is the opposite of the ovulation. The period is the cleaning out of the uterus after an egg is not impregnated during or after ovulation. Ovulation occurs usually just shy of half way through a cycle. Your best bet to get pregnant is from intercourse the five days prior to the event of ovulation: the egg being released from the ovary.
