It is common: If there are red blood cells and nothing else abnormal, then blood is entering your urine in some way. In females this is common with recent period/menstruation. That said, if you are having other symptoms, it does not rule out another cause of blood in urine. See your doctor for further follow up as this needs to be looked at in a clinical context to be sure everything is good.
