A member asked:

Do taking ovulation home tests, such as first response actually help a women in conceiving a pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovulation: Women with regular cycles, have a surge in lh hormone levels that matures and ovulates (releases) the egg 24 - 48 hours later. This is the time you can get pregnant. If you have intercourse after 2-3 days ovulation, the chance of conceiving is far less but not zero. After 5 days, the chance is < 1% unless ovulation occurred later than you anticipated.
