A member asked:

My potassium level is 5.1. could this be due to the 40mg of lisinopril i am taking? also, should i cut out my daily v-8?

High potassium?: The normal range of potassium (k) is 3.7 to 5.2 meq/l. Normal k values range may vary slightly among different laboratories. Your k is in the normal range. What you need to know is what your creatinine level is. Both Lisinopril and v-8 can cause some k elevation. Speak to your physician about how your k level will or will not affect your medication and food intake. Good luck.

Potassium: If your potassium is stable at 5.1 shouldn't be a problem, if its been rising then a decrease in potassium intake would be a good idea also consideration of kidney function and Lisinopril dose.
