Genital warts: Are caused by a low risk virus. This does not cause cancer. Usually in 2-5 years your body will fight off the virus and then the warts will usually stay away. There are simple treatments your doctor can do in the office for genital warts though they may need to be treated several times.

High and low: The chance of cure is over90% even with no treatment. The chance of having cervical cancer even with persistent hpv is low. The important thing is to continue your follow-up exams and paps. That will show if and when the hpv is causing a problem that warrants treatment.
