VERY Rare Under 40: Breast cancer is very rare in men, and is rarely present prior to age 40. Regardless of one's age and gender, it is always best to see a doctor if one finds a new breast lump.

20's: Most cases of male breast cancer are detected in men between the ages of 60 and 70, although the condition can develop in men of any age. I have seen a case in a patient in their 20's.
