Varies: Breast tenderness may occur after ovulation but if conception occurs this tenderness may continue for quite a few weeks.

A 42-year-old member asked:
After IUI my breast is hurting but after 15 days I have no pain. Why?

Ovulation: Women often get breast pain from elevated progesterone/ hormone levels. Since the IUI is performed about the time of ovulation, when the hormone levels are high the breast pain can start at the time of IUI but its not related to the procedure but to your hormone levels at the time of the procedure. The loss of pain most likely means you did not conceive and your period will start.
