Not the best: In general, antibiotics are not recommended for sinus infections. But in severe or prolonged cases, they may be used. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is not the best choice; it doesn't kill some of the common bacteria that cause sinus infections. The recommended drug is amoxicillin, provided you're not allergic to penicillin.
