Fallopian tube: The outer end of the fallopian tube "sweeps" the surface of the ovary and sucks up an egg that was released during ovulation. There then has to be sperm present to fertilize the egg. The fertilized egg then travels for about a week into the upper part (fundus) of the uterus (womb), where it implants. On its trip, the fertilized egg keeps doubling in size: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 cells aso.
