Maybe: You should avoid using a straw, drinking carbonated beverages and spitting for a day after tooth extraction. These actions could cause the blood clot to come out leaving a "dry socket".

Not likely: As long as you are not disturbing the blood cloth formed in the extraction area you have nothing to worry about. ( do not use straw or spit).

Dry sockets: More likely occur with certain medical conditions such as diabetes, difficult extractions, infections, as well as not following some basic instructions such as not rinsing, sucking through a straw, spitting, and smoking. One drink after bleeding has stopped is not likely to cause a dry socket.
