Depends: If done right, exercise is always helpful. See your doctor for proper clearance and possibly a personal trainer to design a program around your limitations.

Only help if done Rt: Exercise only helps if done right. Improves immunity. Maintains weight. Keeps you lean. Helps activities of daily living. Improves Insulin sensitivity. Increases metabolic rate. Improves mood. Improves self-esteem. Can ward of arthritis. And etc!
