Do not eat any shellfish harvested during a red tide or when there are similar algae problems. Avoid any fish or shellfish that are obtained from areas near industrial pollution. Avoid smoked seafood. Avoid mecury.

Yes, good for you: All seafood contains essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA) necessary for normal feta; brain development. Some fish predators at the top of the fish-eat-fish food chain concentrate methyl-mercury (from our coal-burning power plants) to dangerous levels. Recent data is best, as we continue to contaminate.
