Just started period but have 2 more days of metronidazole. only have tampons & can't wear pads during certain activities. what happens if i use them?

With vaginal use of: Metronidazole it recommended: "do not use a tampon because it will absorb the drug." http://www.Nlm.Nih.Gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682244.Html. If you wear tampons it may absorb the Metronidazole & reduce it's effectiveness.
