Possible infection: It may be an infection of the soft tissue called cellulitis, if it is, you would need to take antibiotics for it. Pls see your doctor right away to avoid spread as well as abscess formation.

Abscess : Hi!, sorry about your situation. I sounds like you have a peri-rectal abscess. It is a painful infection filled mass, and may need to by drained by a doctor. Hot soaks and antibiotics sometimes will help, but it's best to see a doctor to pick the best treatment plan. Good luck!
