Acne scars: Acne responds to benzyl peroxide and topical erythromycin. Severe acne requires Accutane . Acne scars respond to microdermabrasion, chemical peals and or laser.

Real Rx: My colleague gave you good advice about the active lesions. Postinflammatory pigmentation may stay around for several weeks. I would advise you against trying to lighten it with any of the hydroquinone skin bleaches; they're difficult to use and may make things look worse. The key is managingthe active disease -- use a scientific rather than "pop" treatment.
