Why is there no help for pancreatic cancer patients?

Often found too late: Stage 1 pancreatic cancer is highly treatable. Unfortunately only a tiny number of people present at this stage (often undergoing a ct scan for something else and the cancer is spotted). Vague abdominal pain one of the only symptoms in early pancreatic cancer. By the time people develop jaundice (the most common presenting symptom) or pancreatic insufficiency, the tumor is already very late stage.

Late detection: Many pancreatic cancers are detected after these have already spread to other organs and surgery is not curative. There are no good drugs either for this cancer.
