Probably not.: For most babies, simethicone oral drops are used. There are no reported side effects for this medication. However, if the need for the gas drops involves constipation, perhaps that should be addressed as well. Certainly anything is possible; however, in my 30 years of pediatric office practice, I have never had a parent complain to me that simethicone drops constipate. Another gas medicine might.
