Yes: There are many types of clear eyes, many of which "get the red out" for short term use from chlorine irritation it any clear eyes should be helpful.

Better not: Clear eyes just masks a red eye by temporarily shrinking the blood vessels that make the eye look red. It does not address the underlying problem. It is always best to treat the condition that is causing the eye to be red.
