Mucus plug: 39 yo female st 38 weeks gestation passing white clear discharge. Most pregnant patients will start passing the mucus plug close to term indicating gradual progression towards labor. In your case at 38weeks, passage of mucus plug is normally and should report any leakage of watery fluid or blood to your doctor. Good luck.
