Not really: Bacteriae can be transmmitted through close skin contact, however, skin need to be broken or has cuts. Bacteriae would not "penetrate" skin easily.

More to the person: Who has them. Boils are not particularly contagious in that these usually do not spread from one person to an other. But the drainage from a boil can infect nearby hair follicles in the same person.
