Muscle tightness: Assymmetrically tight muscles in the neck or shoulder area can cause the neck to crack. As long as there is no pain, numbness or tingling, this is not dangerous. Correcting posture, stretching, and massage can be helpful.

Facet joint issues: Could be from injury or arthritis. Keep an eye on it because having a diagnosis is better than not having one. Prevention is better than surgery! proper evaluation and advice is in your best interest.
