Determine the cause: A rash is a term used to describe a broad range of skin problems caused by an even wider range of issues. You need to see your doctor to determine the cause because using something randomly may make it worse. For example, using a topical steroid cream (i.e. Hydrocortisone) on a fungal rash (i.e. Ring worm) will only make it worse and more difficult to treat.
