A member asked:

Can you overdose without death?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Of course: Depends entirely upon what the drug being overdosed. This is a ratio, published for most pharmaceuticals, which gives a risk of the amount of drug to cause death. For some drugs like digitalis, it is a low number but for others like darvon, it is very high (meaning you can take a lot). Most overestimate this and suicide attempts with drugs usually fail for this reason.
