Please tell me what are the usual symptoms of spinal muscular atrophy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Weakness: Term implies a type of genetic disorder, which has several variations, and usually presents in early childhood. It may present as a "floppy infant", but can also cause a progressive generalized symmetrical weakness and muscular atrophy, more proximal than distal. Difficulty swallowing and breathing may be seen late in the disorder.
