Vision loss: Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of conditions that have in common peripheral vision loss due to inherited abnormalities of the vision metabolism. Early symptoms are difficulty with seeing in dim light ("night blindness"), and then progression of peripheral vision loss, in some cases to complete blindness.
