Moderation esp when: Pregnant. Many pregnant women will limit coffee and caffeinated teas, as well as chocolate, colas and other caffeine containing substances. Energy drinks contain variable amounts of caffeine, and again - excess in anything is generally not a good idea in pregnancy. The best place for pregnant women to get advice is from their OB providers. I can find no literature that it can cause miscarriage.
