What are black. dots behind the eye a sign of?

Floaters : Usually black spots in your vision are components of the vitreous humor that's normally found in the back of your eye. As you age, the vitreous breaks down and you see the edges of it. This usually is not a sign of a problem unless you have a lot of sudden floaters or flashes as well.
