No: Although a number of surgeons are willing to do a combined procedure, it is not standard. You should also understand that there is an increased risk of wound infection when done at time of hysterectomy, but still can be done.

Tummy tuck: It is important to discuss these options with a board certified plastic surgeon. It would not be recommended to have your gynecologist perform the tummy tuck. There are increased risk of infection and blood clots when the two procedures are combined but it can be done.

Pannus op.Not by GYN: A tummy tuck is not a procedure that is performed by an ob/gyn. And if you have consulted with a plastic surgeon who has agreed to do a panniculectomy at the same time as the abdominal hystrectomy, then it is likely for access issues and s/he will have reviewed with you the increased risk of complications associated with performing the combined procedures.

Not ideal: Increased risk of infection and probably of blood clots. Possible though.

No: Although these procedures can be combined, it is not “routine” for tummy tuck surgery to be performed during the time of abdominal hysterectomy. If you are considering combining these operations, make sure you educate yourself about the potential risks/ complications associated with the combination procedures. Best wishes.

Not routinely: While this is possible, it is not routinely performed unless requested and may be associated with additional risks and costs.
