Fine to use condoms: Condoms are pretty reliable if they are used every time, and used correctly. The effectiveness is about 90-95%. So the chance of pregnancy is 5-10% in a year, but using no birth control the chance of pregnancy is 80% in a year. Using spermicide with the condoms improves effectiveness.
