Not necessarily: Painless, nontender lymph nodes should be evaluated especially if they are enlarging. Assuming your physician has given you a thorough exam, follow his advice on whether biopsy is appropriate.

Maybe: Absence of symptoms doesn't rule it out but confers better prognosis if you have it. Normal blood tests don't rule it out. If you have pathologic node enlargement, a biopsy is necessary to r/o. Most node enlargement is reactive (normal) to fight infection.
