Pressure: Earplugs may cause headaches since this is a part of our bodies that are not commonly touched. The pressure of anything in the ear for too long can be irritating to the nearby nerves and tissues possibly causing headaches.

It may be irritating: Nerve ending or tissue . Make sure it is not sharp or go deeper than intended
