Knee instability: Consider patellofemoral instability from flattened femoral condyles, deficient vmo or quad, or high valgus knee. Also consider ligament problems with acl, pcl, mcl, lcl. Check with your orthopedic surgeon or sports doc.

What causes throbbing along the joint line in the knee mostly medial? Is there any treatment to straightening the knee when it is stuck?

LOCKED KNEE: Although there are a number of possibilities, it sounds like you injured your meniscus.. When this structure gets torn, it often produces a "wedge" in the knee joint, preventing extension. Sometimes of the "locked" knee function will improve as the inflammation goes away. Schedule a consult with me and we can make the appropriate referral for imaging and further care in your local geography.
