Risk of dying from bladder cancer?

3% of the cancers: 23% of deaths are due to cancer, 3% of those are due to bladder cancer, so the risk of dying from bladder cancer is about 0.7%.

Varies with tumor: Most bladder cancers are urothelial carcinomas aka transitional cell carcinomas. Of these, low grade tumors are prone to come back, requiring procedures to remove or "dig out" the tumor (transurethral resection). However they have a low rate of invading and killing the patient. For tumors that are high grade and invasive, the risk is higher, especially if the muscle of the bladder is invaded.
