Sev'l possibilities: It depends how long it has been going on, whether there are other facial muscles involved, other associated factors (trauma? Thyroid?) to get the most accurate diagnosis, see your doctor, esp if it has been going on for more than 3 months.

Nerve irritation: This is due to sti8mulation of a small branch of the facial nerve on the side involved in front of the ear. In the absence of pain in the face or facial weakness, it is not worrisome and should go away with time.
