A member asked:

Can gastric cancer show up on catscan without contrast?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible: Usually w/o oral contrast it would be hard to see the inside of the stomach; however, if the tumor is large enough or there has been spread outside of the stomach it may still be possible to see. I believe the best way to know if there is disease within the stomach is to undergo an upper endoscopy where the esophagus, stomach and portion of the duodenum are visualized with a camera.
