Not too long: Medication like Concerta shoud show benefit for focus and attention with in a day or two. If there is no benefit or side effect, you should consult your prescribing physician for a dose adjustment. Dose is not based on height, weight, age or gender. So one must adjust to fit the patient. Most prescibers will adjust the dose to reach benefit or side effect.
