OCP and period: It may be normal for you to have heavy bleeding on birth control pills. The amount of bleeding relates to how thick the uterine lining develops on the pill. If this is your first time on the pill, it may take some time for your body to adapt. If you missed taking any of the pills, or took some medications that may alter the efficacy of the pills, that would also explain the bleeding.
