Usually not: Micro-dermabrasion is best suited for removal of dead cells from the skin surface. Does not go deep enough to effectively reduce the depth of scarring or produce an adequate reaction under the skin to help smooth the base.

No: It will smooth the skin but not help with scarring to any significant degree. Dermabrasion is great for more severe scars (acne or otherwise) but should not be used with active acne. Depending on the depth of scar and location, other options exist as well.
