A member asked:

At my transvaginal u/s on july 29th i was told that i was 7 5/7 by my ob does that mean i conceived 7 5/7 days before july 29th?

NO: Embryological age is different than gestational age. Doctors use gestational age which starts at the 1st day of the last normal menstrual period. Embryological age starts at the time of conception. 7 5/7 gestation means the embryo is 5 5/7. You likely conceived 5 5/7 before july 29th (plus or minus 5 or so days due to the inaccuracy of the us ).You are 2 weeks "gestational age" when you conceive.
