Burn Scars: Burn scars may be quite prominent initially. Any daylight exposure (including sunburns) will usually cause the scars to become significantly darker than the surrounding skin for a significantly longer period of time. Strict use of sunscreen and avoidance of daylight can allow the pigment to subside with time. Lightening creams and intense pulsed light treatments can improve the pigmentation also.
