It can: Astigmatism can distort vision enough to cause an image to double. There are many causes of double vision, though and some can be serious. If you are concerned, get examined.

Possible: High levels can cause double vision if uncorrected. Usually this is not a new problem, so if you are experiencing double vision that wasn't there previously you should see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated. The usual cause is an eye muscle imbalance where the eyes aren't aligned.

Double vision: Astigmatism can be a cause of double vision. Correcting the astigmatism with glasses, contact lenses or surgery will make the double vision go away.
