It's pretty common.: Many women will have irregular spotting or breakthrough bleeding while using progestin only methods of contraception. These methods of birth control tend to thin the lining inside the uterus. This can result in spotting. It can usually be treated with a low dose short-term estrogen. Consult with your doctor.
