No: It depends. Some women with previous breast surgeries or breast trauma can breast feed their babies fine, others can breast feed a little but need to supplement with formula to make sure the baby gets enough calories, and some women can't breast feed. Remember that every drop of breastmilk has health benefits for your baby, but there are also lots of formula fed babies who are healthy and happy.

No: It is possible that scarring of the nipples from prior surgeries or trauma could have a negative impact on breastfeeding, but most of thie time it does not cause any problems. If you are having problems or have questions consult your health care provider or a certified lactation consultant in your area.

It may: Scarring that blocks milk ducts will cause trouble breast feeding.

Probably: Not, but there is no way to tell until you try. It depends upon the desgree of scar in the ducts attached to the nipple.
