For Diarrhea: Norimode is the uk brand name of loperamide hydrochloride. In the us this goes by the brand name of imodium. The medicine slows down gut muscle so water is reabsorbed in the bowel, decreasing watery diarrhea. If have infectious diarrhea--can delay eliminating infection though. Too much of the medicine can cause constipation, nausea, abdominal pain.
