Pedicure: It is hard to know without seeing it. It could be a paranychial infection. See your family doctor who will know whether it needs to be cultured and treated or whether it is something different.

Likely go away, but: It sounds like it may be a skin lesion caused by the pedicure or something you did. As long as it is not an infection, it will likely heal on its own if you keep it clean, dry and protected from constant rubbing. If this--or any new or changed skin lesion (gets larger, changes shape, gets raised, has new colors) persists--see dermatologist. Doesn't sound like a skin cancer, but can be tricky stuff.
