See a physician: It may reassure you to know that the hip joint, the biggest ball and socket joint in the body, simply can't just pop in and out - that is physiologically impossible and if it were possible, would cause tremendous pain and disability. Most likely you have a subluxing iliopsoas tendon (snapping hip syndrome), which can cause popping sensations, but can usually be treated conservatively.
